David Baldacci was born August 5th, 1960 in Richmond, VA. He is married to Michelle Baldacci, and continues to live in his home state. They have two children.
Baldacci started writing short stories in his spare time while earning a B.A. at Virginia Commonwealth University. He then earned a law degree at the University of Virginia. He went on to practice law for nearly a decade in the Washington, D.C. area.
It took Baldacci 3 years to write and complete his first novel, Absolute Power, which was published in 1996. That novel became an immediate best-seller and was made into a mega-hit movie starring Clint Eastwood and Gene Hackman.
More than 100 million copies of his books are in print throughout the United States and the world. His articles have appeared in numerous publications, and he is a contributing editor of Parade Magazine.
He has also appeared on various television networks, including The Discovery Channel.
Baldacci is a hugely successful author who believes in giving back to his community. He is Co-founder, with his wife of Wish You Well Foundation, which specializes in spreading books across the United States. Baldacci was also named the ambassador of The National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
He is considered one of the most prolific and creative novelists of all time.
